The king did not simply send away the man who had saved somebody. He calls him forward, wanting to know who he is. The barber bows and introduces himself.

He was a man of very few words, he said. That, he added, is why people call him the quiet one. Saying it took a while.

Then, offering to prove it, he brings out a story. Inside that story were six more men’s stories. The people in that room spent the rest of the day there.
