In Basra there lived a young metalworker named Hasan. He worked in gold and silver, and kept a house with his mother. One day a stranger stopped in front of that shop.
The man said he would teach Hasan how to make gold. Hasan followed the promise onto a ship and away to a far place. To the man who promised, Hasan had been a tool from the start.
