On the hill of Corinth a man stood looking up at the sky. An eagle had just carried off a young woman. He knew who that was.

Sisyphus told nobody. He only folded it up neatly and put it away inside himself, meaning to wait until there was somewhere to spend it.

A few days later, when the river god Asopus came up the hill looking for his daughter, Sisyphus met him and spoke slowly. “There is no water on my hill. If you were to give me a spring.”
