Two men came face to face in the middle of the battlefield. On the Greek side it was Diomedes. That day he had aimed a spear even at a god.
Opposite him stood Glaucus. A commander on the Trojan side, come from Lycia across the sea. The space between them closed to spear length.
Diomedes spoke first. “Who are you?” That question would stop the fighting for that day.
