One morning the wall of Troy was in an uproar, because the Greek fleet that had been out on the water was gone. It was the first empty sea in ten years.
Only one great wooden horse was left on the plain (chapter 39), and people opened the gates and poured out. They were saying the war was over.
Voices grew for bringing the horse into the city, to set it up as a mark of victory. Just then a priest came running down the hill.
