Eros said nothing at all, but spread his wings and settled on the peak of Parnassus. Then he drew two arrows out of his quiver, each unlike the other.
One was tipped with gold and sharp, and the other was tipped with lead and blunt. Eros shot the golden one at Apollo and the leaden one at Daphne, down in the wood below.
